The Yahoo - Microsoft Search Deal Story
View more presentations from Helen Overland.
As you probably know, a deal between Yahoo and Microsoft on search and search advertising was signed on July 29, 2009.
This agreement came after many months of wrangling, meetings, debate, and even a bit of drama. Ultimately however, an agreement was reached, and the new Microsoft search engine Bing will be handling searches over on Yahoo for the next 10 years or so.
It took a long time for the Microsoft & Yahoo deal to happen. First Microsoft offered to acquire Yahoo, which Yahoo declined, there was a deal between Yahoo and Google for a while, and there was debate back and forth between the various parties.
In fact, it is a curious tale of wrangling and even a little drama. Read the tale of offers, counter-offers, threats, revolts, departures, and eventual dealmaking in this fascinating story of business.

haha very funny!
