By now you've probably heard that the Yahoo search engine is, at some future date, going to be discontinued. So if you've not been using the Google search engine you may find yourself using Bing in the not-so-distant future. But how does the Bing search engine compare to Google? Are Google results better than Bing, and is the new Microsoft search engine a useful search tool?

This tool searches all three engines and gives the results, but doesn't show you which engine the results came from. When you choose one set of results as the "winner", you see which search engine you chose.
Compares results of up to 5 search engines side by side. However, we found that comparing Google, Yahoo & Bing caused odd results to show up in the Google results. Comparing only Google and Bing seemed to show results consistent with our web results.

There are LOTS of search engine comparison tools out there which you can use to figure out which search engine - Bing or Google - gives the results that best reflect what you are searching for. Here's a list of tools you can use to compare search engines to see which ones you like better. Specifically, here's a list of tools you can use to decide between Google and Bing.
How to Compare Google vs. Bing Search Engines
I have to say, I've been very pleasantly surprised by Bing so far, although Google is still my favourite search engine. I spent some time playing with the BlindSearch search engine comparison tool in the last little while, and the results were surprising.
I was shocked to discover that I actually kind of prefer Bing's results to Google's. Granted, this test was nothing that even remotely resembled a scientific test, but since when do people choose a search engine based on scientific tests? Most of the time, I get the sense that gut feeling and habit tends to guide human behaviour. Regardless, if people find Bing relevant, they may stick with it.
